چکیده

Pistachio (Pistacia vera L.) has earned recognition as a significant crop due to its unique nutrient composition and adaptability the growing threat of climate change. Consequently, utilization remote sensing techniques for non-invasive pistachio monitoring become critically important. This research was conducted in two orchards located Spain, aiming assess effectiveness vegetation indices (VIs) estimating nut yield quality under various irrigation conditions. To this end, high-resolution multispectral thermal imagery were gathered using Micasense ALTUM sensor carried by DJI Inspire 2 drone order calculate NDRE (normalized difference red edge index), GNDVI (green normalized NDVI CWSI (crop water stress index). Each orchard underwent flights at distinct growth stages, totaling four flights. In June, NDRE-carbohydrates (r = 0.78) CWSI-oleic 0.77) showed highest correlations, while September, CWSI-carbohydrates 0.62) NDVI-iron 0.54) Despite NDVI’s limitations saturation effects, all VIs had with proving most effective both correlated considerably on dates terms several parameters (carbohydrate percentage, magnesium, iron, fatty acids, namely palmitoyl, stearic, oleic, linoleic), surpassing non-thermal indices. Finally, it is important consider impact environmental factors, such location sun, when interpreting CWSI, modifies temperature distribution pattern within canopy. study supports viability potential tools enhancing management orchards.
